Output from FCP into camera w/out conforming?
I'm wondering if it's possible to play out from the timeline into the camera when set in VCR mode. Anyone? I'm not talking about "print to tape." Just HDV out the firewire (if it goes) and into the cam in hdv mode, like I've done with regular DV and cameras/decks. Has anyone done this?
Thanks. |

Should work, I think. Why not try it.

Doesn't work - when you're working in HDV you can't preview out via firewire so there's no signal for you to record. The only way to go back out is to conform and do a print-to-tape.

Or, you can buy a kona card and monitor hdv timelines out that way. My LHe lets me monitor downconverts just fine on an sd monitor.
