m2t and WMP observations - a really nice match
My observations on why this is such a nice match to use for weeding out and renaming m2t clips. This is for Windows only.
Playback quality is good. It's not necessary to even change the extension. In Windows, right-click on an m2t file and choose "open with", choose WMP and "open with this program every time" You can then launch m2t files into WMP files by double-clicking on them in a Windows explorer window, leaving open a window that gives you control over deleting, renaming, and duplicating files in the folder you're dealing with. The Kicker? Unlike many programs running under Windows, WMP allows you to delete and rename files while it is playing them. To see why this makes the workflow so much more efficient just give it a try. Although WMP has a playlist, you can't edit filenames or delete files from within WMP so the playlist is not helpful for sorting shots. When you're done sorting, use a free renamer such as THE Rename if automated renaming fits with your scheme, or just rename the files as you go through them in Windows (use the Windows shortcut key f2 to go into rename mode for any file you have selected). Voila! This is easy and fast. |
