16.9-SD problems in FCP
I just captured some 16.9 SD from an A1.
What’s happening in FCP is, some of the clips in the timeline are 16.9 and some are squished. They were all captured at the same time. Any ideas? I’ll post on the Mac page too. Thanks, Chris |

Open the MOTION tab, go down to Distort and set the aspect ratio at -33.33 - I seem to remember that's right... although my memory isn't what it used to be...

Thanks Steven,
Though I'm still puzzled by why some would be okay & others wouldn't. ??? And don't worry, My memory was never what it used to be and it's getting worse. |

Generally it's all about the combination of clip/capture/sequence settings. The best approach is starting with a clean slate. Close all open projects in FCP so only the menu bar is showing. Now go to Easy Setup and Choose NTSC Anamorphic DV. Now start a new project. It won't change the settings on any existing clips or sequences, but it will insure that all the new clips and sequences match.

Thanks Boyd,
Don't know what I'd do without you guys. Funny, I've got a piece coming up on PBS national & it all came off without a glitch. I do a dance recital for my girls dance class & have all kinds of problems. Peace, Chris wwwgardeninsectvideo.com Garden Insects airs nationally on PBS starting July 8th. |
