Reading Windows Captured HDV footage on Macs
I've captured some HDV60i footage from an A1 on Premiere Pro 2 using the HDV capture settings. I plan on editing in Premiere, but I need to do some effects work in Apple Shake. I don't have a mac and I'm forced to use my college's intel macs for the Shake work. I've found to my disappointment that the mpeg hdv files will not play on macs unless I'm using VLC. Shake won't read them, they won't play in Quicktime or FCP. I understand an update for FCP has been released that may address this, but the crux is that I can't update software on these machines as I don't have admin privileges . I'm thinking I may have to put out tiff frames from my windows machine to use in Shake, but I'm trying to avoid this at all costs as my professor despises conversions of footage.
Is there a workaround for getting Shake to read these files without converting the mpeg's or installing new software? If not, is there a way I can convert them on my PC to a format that does not change the quality or color space?
