Horizontal line artifacts in FCP

I have noticed ascending horizontal line artifacts when I display XH-A1 clips in FCP when I capture using the recommended AIC 1080i/60 preset. Playing the clip directly from the camera onto a TV doesn't seem to have them.

Is this just a weirdness in the preview which disappears after rendering into the final output or is it actually a corruption of the file during the capture and transcoding process?

Thanks in advance
