Sample clips download speed?
I have a Charter 5 MB/sec download connection via cable, the only game in my part of town, but my download speed of the clips never exceeds 550 kb/sec. Can anyone tell me why the downloads are so slow. I'm using a 1.83 mhz Macbook Pro.

You connection is 5 Megabits/sec (Mbps) , not Megabytes/sec (MBps)
5 Megabits = 610 kilobytes/sec... so with overhead, 550 kilobytes/sec is about as good as one could expect. Bill |

...and you have to take the server's upload speed into account...a lot of sites limit the speed per connection.
