filter for interview?
hi folks... can anyone recommend a filter to use for an interview that would give a nice soft feel? (not too soft, but just a little)? I suppose I could do similar in post, but to me a filter is a bit easier if I can do it while shooting. Any other comments on this? (will be indoor, sit down, with controlled lighting). not looking to break the bank, just something decent.
any / all suggestions greatly appreciated! |

OK, I don't have your model camera, but my sentiments still hold. I wouldn't use a filter that would introduce ANYTHING that would mess with a good interview. Too much at risk. I would light it well and concentrate on focus and DoF. Anything that I would want to "do" to that precious footage I would defo do in post. NO QUESTION! - to put at risk? It just ain't worth it.
However . . . As it IS an interview and seemingly you can ask to do it again - and yes, I realise some interviews you can't re-vid - do your "back-pocket" shot and get THAT in the "can" and then do your filter shot. OK? However . . . ( lol!) I must admit recently I have taken to using a pola for internal shots. Makes for a neato sweet picture. - g |

Can you achieve the effect you want with the Skin Detail function of the A1 (page 67 of the manual)? or the sharpness preset?
