How well does the XHA1 match the XL2 for dual shoots?
Anyone try mixing footage between XL2, XHA1, XLH1 during live events? Do the cameras match well?
---------------------------- (additional detailed info bellow) I need a new camera for live event videography. I already own an XL2 and I need a new camera that will match the look of the XL2. Currently Ive been shooting live events with the XL2 and DVX100 together and they never match completely. I have to do a lot of post work to make the cuts match. Color is interpreted differently as well as just about every aspect of focusing, zooming, gain, ect, is interpreted differently and its really hard to keep the cams consistent. The ideal situation would probably be two XL2s' but I want the new camera to be HD for commercial and film production. The XHA1 costs about 4 grand which is the same as XL2.

I've used a friend's XL2 to shoot most of a documentary music series he's working on. After I got my XH A1, I started shooting with it, in SD mode, 24f. He says the XH A1 footage looks sharper and cleaner, overall a bit better, but you can still tweak both cameras pretty closely. Seems all Canon cameras have a similar look, just as all Sony cameras do.
