A1 SD quality
If you should make a standard definition "letterboxed" video for a customer and owned both DVX100 and XH-A1, would you then use XH-A1 and shoot in 16:9 SD mode - or shoot with DVX100 and use the 16:9 "letterbox" mode?

I shoot HDV, capture HDV, edit Cineform Avi, render to SD, keeping the resolution as long as possible before down rezzing.
I will also say when I first got the A1, and before I built my new computer, I shot HDV, converted to SD in camera upon capture, edited in SD. The end result looked pretty good to me. Much, much better than my GL2 for sure. |
