25F in SD universally compatible?

We are just preparing for a shoot in North Africa that will be edited by someone in country at a later date who has requested all SD footage. This being PAL land, our choices are therefore now SD 25F and SD 50i.

I know that the progressive frame rates (24F, 25F and 30F) in HDV are only compatible on Canon equipment, but this isn't true for SD right?

In other words, if we decide to shoot 25F in SD, any PAL VTR DV deck will play it right? Can anyone confirm this before we make a mistake?

Thanks!
