Capturing Problems!!!
I've had this camera since they first shipped. I've captured twenty something tapes without problem.
Now though. PPro reads "capture device offline" and even cineform HDlink reads "no capture device connected". What the hell. I can control the transport from PPro, but the record button is grayed out. When I put it in 'Ext. Link' mode, the computer controls it fine. So it's not my firewire bus, or my firewire cable. But when it's in play/vcr mode, I can only control the transport, no capturing of frames!!! What is going on?! I've uninstalled the Canon driver twice. Same problem. Is there a setting in the camera that I've switched? I need help tonight. Thanks |

In PPro make sure that the device setting in the Capture window is set to "HDV camera" and not "DV camera".
I can't speak about the other software because I don't have it. Good luck, and keep us posted, Brian Brown |

Here is my methods to get my A1 works on my computer:
1. Download and setup DV-PC Recorder Software v1.00E http://www.canon-europe.com/Images/13_222798.exe 2. After installed, plug the firewire in and make sure THERE IS AN ICON CAMERA APPEAR IN "My Computer". if I don't see it, I have to unplug or turn off camera and start again or restart. |
