Peaking and Zebras
I understand you cannot have both enabled at the same time, do you think this is firmware fixable?
Do you find exposing the image correctly difficult without zebras on this cam? |

Kevin, when I was switching to A1 from the V1 (which can have zebra, histogram and peaking all displayed at the same time), this was my great concern as well. But after a couple of hours I got used to it. Ergonomics on the A1 is great; in fact you can switch the zebra to stay constantly on in the menu, and only when monitoring/adjusting the focus just press the PEAK button (the zebra is replaced by peaking then); when your exposure needs attention press it again - and you have the zebra back. So, it only needs one push of a button, which is ergonomically placed (unlike the Z1, where you have to use the not-so-conveniently located slider through it's three positions: zebra-off-peaking).
So, it's not so much the "peaking OR zebra" feature which is not great on the A1, but the actual peaking quality (it's not customizable, and not intensive enough IMHO), that should be improved in the first place. That said, I admit the V1 is just great in this respect. |
