Trailer - Alexis the Fireman
Hi all,
Link: Alexis le pompier / Alexis the Fireman on Vimeo It all started during the summer of 2008. Wanted to make a short with my son Alexis (he's 3 1/2) being a fireman but it's been a little hard to keep his attention span for more than a few minutes. We had to give up the project considering the amount of work required and the fact that Alexis wasn't really enjoying the process anymore. The short then got recycled in an hopefully interesting trailer instead... Fortunately, the Premiere has been done with his little cousins last Saturday and they all enjoyed it very much. He was so proud of himself being the hero of his own movie! But the best part was to look into his eyes and know without the shadow of a doubt, that I was the coolest Dad on Earth! Feel free to comment! Benoit |

Hahaha... very nice. Ik like it. Is this shot with a XHA1? If yes, which preset did you use for the shots inside, your boy behind the desk? I see very good skin tones in that part.

Hi,
Thanks for watching. Yes, I shot it with a XHA1. If I remember correctly, I used the preset "Panalook2" (I shot it last summer). I did some CC in Magic Bullet Looks but I would need to redo it. I also need to deinterlace the footage - I made a mistake in the configuration during the render. I shot it at 24F. Best regards, Benoit |

Surfing w/ time lapse, slo-mo, fast-mo
One day shoot, some good sun, some light overcast
Panalook 2, 60i, -3db, AV mode, no ND filter, edited progressive Been shooting in the AV mode lately, seems to give more of a point and shoot flexibility for action and changing outdoor lighting. HSF Contest # 2 By Bill Thesken On ExposureRoom Music by Tommy Tokioka http://www.royal-t.net/ |

Christian,
I enjoyed your pigeon clips. The video reminded me of a song that my brother wrote years ago. If you would like to hear "Pigeons" send me your email address. I promise it will make you laugh. Fred Tims FTVideo@optonline.net |

Short Film: Waiting
This film has quite the history. "Waiting" was originally a 30-40 minute short film entitled "The Ornament" which I shot almost a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, as most things in film, things never went to plan. Everything from a random life events, to a busy schedule, to simply the fact that the film wasn't coming together like I had envisioned. Approximately only 25% of the film was shot so editing anything close to what I had envisioned for "The Ornament" wasn't anywhere near possible. So instead of just letting the footage collect dust on my hard drive, I decided to cut the footage together and see if I could come up with anything that would resemble a narrative. I had to get really artsy with the editing but overall, I had a great time cutting this piece together. I thought of it as an "editing exercise" or "challenge". I hope you guys enjoy this somewhat experimental romantic love story.
PS: This project also features the debut of my new production logo! Woo! Vimeo link: Waiting on Vimeo HD: http://www.torresstudios.com/films/waiting_web.mov |

Popcorn Festival Floats
This was something I did for the my city last summer, covering Popcorn Festival which is held every year in honor of Orville Redenbacher, who started his company in our town.
Once again, Its pretty mellowdramatic, but I tried to show the effort, time and emotion put into the Popcorn Floats every year. It was with the VIVIDRGB preset, but I also used the LetusExtreme and it wasn't that long after I got it. I didn't know much about it and I didn't know about turning off the OIS. And that screwed with all my shot. Opps! I noticed a few mistakes recently with seeing the edge of the Letus too... Thanks! Popcorn Festival Floats on Vimeo |
