How good are the stills from A1

Any one try out the still camera feature on the A1 ? How good is the resolution ? How big are the files ?

The camcorderinfo review includes a couple of shots of resolution/color charts taken in still mode. I think some of the still features might actually be useful, and the resolution isn't bad (1920x1080 pixels, 700k measured resolution).

Look through our XL H1 Sample Clips forum. The still images you'll find there will give you an idea of what the A1 is capable of (same image sensors, same DSP, etc. and nearly the same lens as the XL H1). Hope this helps,

They are good, not great (but this is a camcorder not a camera) I have noticed that the pictures can look significantly different that what the video what look like. They are obviously processed differently for format specifications but I am very pleased with the quality.

I read somewhere that two seperate codecs are used for processing video and stills.
