Switching framerates question
Will it cause problems (dropouts, other) if I change from 1080i to 24f on the same tape? Will it cause insurmountable problems during import in FCP? I'm very new to all this and am grateful for your help.

Last month I shot some stuff on my H1 for a short and friend and I were working on, and we shot interlaced first for some slow motion effects, and then shot 24F for the rest. I used the same tape, and when capturing via FCP 5.1.2, FCP recognized the change in the formats, and captured appropriately. It really surprised me, as I was expecting FCP to error out when it got to the point we switched, but it didn't.
I wouldn't recommend making this a habit of shooting both on the same tape, but if capturing with the latest FCP, it seems to work ok. |
