HDV downconvert to SD Via firewire

I just shot some clips in HDV and I need to convert them to SD through firewire but the menu settings on the cam to downconvert are blacked out.

Any suggestions?

I need to downconvert incam because I shot in 24f and final cut epress doesn't support 24f hd.

Is there any conversion software to down convert hd 24f to sd 24f?

Well there's some incorrect setting in there somewhere, so let's see if we can get this straightened out. With the camera in VCR playback mode, go to the Signal Setup menu and toggle AV - DV to the Off position. Also in Signal Setup, make sure that the Playback Standard option is set to HDV. Okay, now check and see if the HD Downconvert option is still greyed out and tell us what you find.

I can get it to work in regular mode 60i but for 24f downconversion to 16:9 sd it is greyed out. I think it may be a software problem not being able to support the format.

I found that what I needed to do was to change the 24f sd setting to 2:3:3:2 instead of 2:3 and it works.
