Ntsc / Pal
Quick question: can the XH-A1 / G1 switch between NTSC & PAL, or must one purchase either one or the other..?
Thx, Ross. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

On the Canon XL H1, XH G1 and XH A1 camcorders, either version can be upgraded to include the other. The 60i model can be modified to become 60i/50i switchable, as can the 50i model. The upgrade is performed by a Canon factory service center and cost about $500 USD.

Chris,
Thx. Do you know whether the switching is done via a menu item, or is it a physical/real switch..? Thx, Ross. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The upgrade adds a new item to the Signal Setup menu, appearing as a choice of 50i or 60i.

Your best bet is to call first and inquire about their current turn-around time.
