A1 Upgrade
I was just wondering if Canon or a third party company will offer an A1 SDI upgrade. Maybe an option for those of us who want hd but are not prepared for the uncompressd stuff right now. It seems do-able but I dont know how extensive a job it would be (I guess Canon feels like $3000 worth). Assuming the majority of the electronics are there, I wonder how difficult it would be to add at least an SDI out yourself. Although I hate the thought of cracking a virginal A1's plastic case.

I don't personally see that happening, definitely not from Canon and very unlikely that a 3rd party would develop a low-volume specialty solution like that. If a person needs the Jackpack stuff, buy the G1, if not then buy the A1.
