FCP XHA1s workflow basics

So I've finally got up and running with an iMac and FCPX - migrating over from PC and Premiere - and after a few days getting to grips just wanted to check something with you more experienced users, if you don't mind...

In FCPX I'm going to File>Import from Camera and have let it take the settings from the first clip imported. I can see in the info inspector panel it's showing as 1440x1080 25fps 1080i HD which all sounds as expected.

My question, however, is will this importing workflow import the footage at its maximum quality? My iMac is nice and powerful, so I don't want it to be compressed unnecessarily at this stage...

Thank you in advance as ever for your help,

Jim :)
