XHA1 problems with dirty/gritty focus ring
Got in a pretty bad sand storm while filming with my XHA1. Unfortunately didn't have a protective cover. I cleaned it as best as possible and it worked fine for a couple weeks after. Now for some reason the focus ring feels very gritty. I'm guessing some sand made it way into it. What do i need to do about getting this fixed? Any idea on cost?

Re: XHA1 problems with dirty/gritty focus ring
Don't grind it in by turning it anymore .. then try running a vacuum cleaner at the opening in the ring when holding the AI over it. Shake the A1 a tad to loosen any grit while rotating the ring slowly .. it's a 2 person exercise.
Depending on the age of the A1 if you have to send it in to the shop, they can do a full service .. let's know how it pans out and good luck. Cheers.
