A1s + XH series focus speed

Not long ago I read on this forum somewhere that the focus speed is noticeably slower than its predecessor, the XH-A1. Even though I’ve had the A1s only about a week and a half, at least initially with limited experience to date I tend to agree.

This is not a positive discovery as I need to be able to focus very quickly on the fly at a few seconds notice/lead-time considering what its used for.

So, my question is thus:

From your practical experience, in layman’s terms, and considering the above, what is the difference between “instant” and normal focus modes on the XH series?

In real, hand-on terms, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using each mode?

Is there any way I can speed up the focus time?

I normally use normal mode. Do I learn to live with it?

Any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks!
