Just to check - the HDV tape plays well in your Canon, and the pictures appear ok on the screen, the audio's clear? The Canon is Firewired into your Mac?

Yes the tape plays on the Canon and is connected via Firewire.
Should i use an specific cable? I´m using a 4pin to 800 firewire that i regular use on a sony HC40 to transfer regular DV material, and it works just fine. Still looking for answers, thanks! |

Hi, Elena..................
Put a fresh tape in the Canon and shoot 15 seconds of DV.
a. Can you capture it on your system? Rewind the tape to the beginning and shoot 15 seconds of HDV. b. Can you capture that? Put in the tape shot on the Sony. c. Can you capture that? If the answers are: 1. Yes, Yes, No - there's an issue with the Sony shot tape. 2. Yes, No, No - There's an issue with your system and HDV 3. No, No, No - There's something seriously amiss with the link or your settings If you have any other combination of answers, do tell. CS |

Hi Chris!
Thanks for the ideas! After lots of trials with Canon and Sony in Dv and HDV, changing settings on FCP and so on. I have the answer, is the connector on the camera. Is lose so as i moved the cable it had signal. And i guess is a manufactured issue because is my first time capturing with this camcorder. Thanks anyway :) |
