estimate cost on broken mic holder arm
I searched but couldn't find the actual cost of the service.
I called the canon and they said just send it back and then they will give me the estimate once they take a look at it which could take anywhere from 7-14 days. I have attached the photo to show what exactly looks like right now. I think my intern tried to put the camera with shotgun mic on, and pushed it down while the mic was stuck on edge of the bag. This stinks because I just got it back from hand-strap replacement TODAY. Anyone received the service on this? They said it looks like it won't be covered under warranty. Thank you so much ahead. Is it just the mic holder that is bust or the body as well? If it's just the mic holder and everything else is ok why not get them to send out the part? Probably less than shipping costs? (well maybe...)

Had a similar problem on an XHA1, Canon sold me the part, was iirc about $45. Call Canon in Jamesburg, NJ and ask for camera parts....sorry I don't have the part number at hand, but they were very helpful in identifying and sending the part, was no problem at all. / Battle Vaughan
