A1 - DV footage won't split with software
I used to have no trouble using WinDV to capture my DV footage, automatically splitting it into separate files when the tape had pauses on it. For some reason none of my DV footage will get split anymore. I tried 2 different firewire cables, 2 different capture/split programs, and it's still not working. Any idea if it could be a camera option causing the issue? Or maybe the firewire port failing? The footage captures fine with no dropped frames, but it refuses to split. :(
Tested it with HDV Split with an HDV tape and that worked fine. So now I am super confused why it won`t work :(

I would check some of the settings in the "signal setup" menu when your in playback mode before you plug in the firewire cable. I would tend to think that it has nothing to do with the firewire cable or port.

Usually your NLE has capture options. In Vegas it has the option in preferences to stop capture at dropped frames, split scenes or capture till you stop, something like that.
Cheers.
