Custom Function ?
Can someone explain what CF 01 (AE Response) does? and do you kepp it on low midle or high. In the Canon documentation online it says that on high it responds like a high end camera. What does this mean?

I don't really know, but I'm thinking when set on "high" it is similar to the "shockless off" settings of Gain and WB. There is a reference here http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh...teps-pops.html to using the "low" setting to try to smooth out AE bumps. Maybe it's the other way round, which might explain why the OP above found it still didn't work!
The manual doesn't say anything particularly illuminating about how it works Quote:
I tried changing the settings to see if I could work out what it does, but not so far. |

Thanks for trying. I hope someone can shed some light on this.

I think that should read "Selects the camcorder's response when you change TO the automatic exposure setting"

So Bill, do you reckon that the "low/middle/high" refers to the speed of the response?
