Hot shoe voltage?
I am trying to find out the voltage of the hot shoe on the xh-a1. I just got a remote camera that runs off 9-12v and I wanted to make a mout to use the power from the camera. Is this possible? Or is there any other way to get that power from the camera?
Thank you! |

To the best of my understanding from the manual, the hot shoe is a synch contact for a Canon Speedlight so it can be used for making still images. I think it is not a voltage supply at all. See Page 118. / Battle Vaughan/miamiherald.com video team

Some pro cameras have power taps for various purposes. XHA1 isn't one of them...one of our people likes to use a Varizoom external monitor occasonally, but he has to run it off a separate battery. I know of no way to tap the camera power, don't see any mention of it in the manual...... :(,,,,,/ bv
