Warranty if purchased off someone on Craigslist?
Hello, I purchased my XHA1 from someone off craigslist a few months ago. Paid half through Paypal and the rest cash for about $2100. Good deal, problem is I don't have proof of purchase where he bought it from, says it was purchased only a month before.
I recently dropped my XHA1 and cracked the lcd screen and was wondering if there was anyway I could get it repaired through Canon's warranty service? I have the camera registered under my name but can't provide proof of purchase. I don't want to spend $20 shipping my camera to Canon only to find out I can't afford to pay for the repair. =( Any help would be much appreciated! -Xerxes |

Xerxes I don't think it matters wether you have original reciept or not because if you dropped it and broke the lcd that will not be covered under warranty. If you give canon's service centre a ring I would think that they should be able to give you an estimate for repair over the phone.
