Composite output of A1 4:2:2 1920 x 1080?

I believe this has been asked before but I was just wondering whether the output from the composite out on the cam is uncompressed 4:2:2 and true 1920 x 1080 HD before HDV compression?

Thanks

Jon

The composite output (from the yellow 4-pole mini-jack socket) is SD analogue and not very good quality. However, I think the componant output (mini D-socket) should be full resolution HD, fed from before the MPEG2 compression stage, albeit analogue not digital.

This has been discussed before, when the camera was quite new. There are threads describing how to capture this feed...

While the component output may have higher chroma resolution than the recorded signal, and certainly won't be compressed, it will still be 1440x1080. According to Canon, the XHA1 has 3 1440x1080 CCDs, exactly the same as the XLH1.
