Canon XLH1 ,--> nNovia QCHD

I connected these items and tried to work with .m2t type of hdv.
I cannot synchronize with sync to tape control.
When starting my camcorder, the tally light on my QCHD is burning, the counter on my QCHD is running but nothing is written down on my hdd.
When I connect my PC and QCHD in HDD mode, nothing is seen on the hdd.

What did I wrong?
If you have a working combination, please send your settings to c.bakker315@chello.nl .
The firmware iof QCHD is QC049D070LP655

I don't think that SYNCTOTAPE is an option with HDV. If you notice on the nNovia display, you can't set (ST1) - only (ST0). There may be some way for the camera to control the unit as an external device via 1349, but I've taken to just starting the recording manually on the nNovia itself.

If you do find a way to control recording from the camera, please let us all know.

From nNovia Website:

I am trying to record HDV footage, how should I set up my recorder so that it is triggered by my camera?

In general, HDV cameras require a tape inserted in order to control third party external devices. While you can use HDV cameras without a tape, you would need to trigger your nNovia recorder manually (by pressing REC/PLAY or using RS232 control). If you want to go tapeless on the HDV camera and you need timecode sent with the video you must set the camera's timecode to 'free run'. Sony, JVC, and Canon all require both a 1394 control setting of "Synchronous" or "Synchro", and a tape inserted in order to send commands via 1394 out to nNovia recorders.
