XH-A1 Reversing Tape when stop recording? at DVinfo.net

Does anybody experience this when using XH-A1? This is happening everytime I press record button again to stop, the camera automatically reverse the tape back approx. 1.5 second. Is this normal or is there something in the camera menu I should adjust?

It's normal so when it starts recording again it can pickup and continue the pix/timecode without dropouts.

Hi Allan, thanks for the answer! I have Sony FX1 also, but apparently FX1 doesnt reverse the tape at all. Sorry, I'm still confused.

The FX1 does it quietly, the A1 makes more noise about it. Knowing Sony you'd think it'd be the other way around.
