Matching XH-A1 with HV10
I took the advice from here to use a second cam and I was trying to match those two cam and is driving me crazy. I took few shot to a color card and match both color and when i think i got a match the other colors look different or too dark.
are any of you guys have match these two cam before. I search and can't find anything. I only found for the hv20 and hv30 but in cinemode. Please let me know. thanks in advance

I have both of your cameras plus an HV30. I've not gotten as technical as you have but I get a good visual match to the factory XH-A1 preset by lessening the contrast in the HV custom presets. I'll also drop the brightness on the HVs by one notch to keep the whites closer to 100IRE when shooting with a locked shutter but letting the iris float.
I stay close to neutral settings on all three cameras as I figure it's easier to find the common ground for them all. I shoot sports from late afternoon into night with the HVs locked down on their sticks. Tweaks in post get all three to look similar enough, although when it gets dark the HVs image deteriorates more than the A1 and it gets harder to match. HTH. |
