Canon XL1 as second cam for XHa1
I'm looking at a XL1, which is told to have low hours on it, but has a faulty fire wire port. Asking price is around 800.00. Would this be worth having as a B-Roll camera? Or, should I get an hv30 as a second cam.
thanks, Mike Watkins |

Personally I would go with the p HV30. The XL1 is going to look a lot softer, and it's 4:3. You'd be mixing HD and SD footage too.

Strongly recommend an HV30 over an XL1 any day. It's HD and the image is *much* prettier than an XL1.

the xl1 is a great camera but for the money i would get an hv30. you could do a feature on either camera but for the money the hv30 is awesome.
