4 audio channels with XHA1 - ?!?
how do i record 4 separate audio channels into the XHA1? Somthing like this?
http://www.ozan.ca/XHA1.JPG Can each XLR input even read as a stereo channel? If I record from 4 separate mic's sources into my MIXER and into input 1 and 2.... how would i extract each channel as a mono channel in Premiere? Premiere only shows the HDV source as a single stereo layer. eh, this is so confusing.

XLR input aren't stereo channels. The only way to get 4 channels of audio into it is to go via a mixer first, but then you won't be able to control each individually - only a maximum of 2 (depending on your setup).

While you can record 2 channels in 12-bit mode, you cannot dub sound to the remaining two 12-bit mode tracks. However, FWIW, the XL does allow 4-channel recording in 12-bit/32 kHz mode.
