Canon Service issue : missing hotshoe
So i had sent my camera out to get the handle control plate replaced (it was faulty and the buttons didn't depress) and got it back within 7 days. Pretty impressive. I haven`t had to use it until this weekend. When I took it out I noticed the hot shoe is missing. They never put it back on after disassembling and reassembling the control handle. Now I'm out of luck for my shoot tomorrow with no where to hold my lav receiver. Big question is....are they going to make me send it back to them again to put it back on ? Or is it something they can send me and I can snap on? I'm likely going to have my pay docked for not having clean audio, and I know they won;t reimburse that, but are they going to torture me more and make me lose another week with no camera?

You could have at least simply velcro'd the receiver to the battery compartment door temporarily until Canon get's it's act together.
Btw, that's appalling what they did, or did not do. |

You can probably just clip the Lav receiever on the handle... I do that sometime if I'm in a rush...
