Overcrank footage on A1?
I can't seem to find this online anywhere, or on this forum either, but can you overcrank the speed on an A1 to achieve smoother slow-motion in post. In other words, can you shoot in 48fps?
My inability to find any info on this has me thinking that the A1 cannot do this. |

You can't shoot 48fps on the A1/G1. That said, there are several methods to approximate a decent overcrank/slomo effect with this or any other 60i camera. Here's one:
http://rarevision.com/v1/articles/slow_motion.php Also a good slow motion plugin for FCP (as well as many other cool plugins) here: http://www.mattias.nu/plugins/ With either method, using at least a 1/120 shutter will help get the detail you need for a good slomo.

No you can not over crank the A1 footage but if you shoot at a higher apprature
250/sec+ it would give you nicer slow motion in post. hope this helps Pouyan |
