I've used unbranded batteries with my canons for a couple of years and never had any problems - i find they last longer than my original battery!

I am going to bookmark the master batteries and tape threads so I can just post the link on all the new "battery" and "tape" threads!
Do a search for BP-970g and you should find a nice long thread about batteries. That being said, stick with OEM batteries, at least if you are using a nice camera. Some third party batteries tend to get stuck, or not give a full readout. Also, they rarely come with warranty. -JS |

I'd hold off till you find you need an extra battery, the A1 battery runs quite a while.
Cheers. |

I'm using generic brand BP-970G. The original Canon brand is so expensive. I have some brand new one for sale too.
