Will non-slim polarizer vignette on A1?
I'm considering polarizers (specifically B+W circular Multi-coat) and was wondering if the non-slim version will vignette at full wide. Has anyone used a non-slim filter on the A1 and experienced vignetting? I'd rather buy the non-slim as money is (as always) very tight, but If its going to compromise the image then I'll spend extra.

It shouldn't vignette, as long as you take off your UV protector.

A much more important issue that I experienced - also with polarizers - are circulare lens to filter reflections - certainly in direct sunlight, with the standard lens-hood - hard to avoid.

I used the Canon PL 72mm circular polarizer without vignetting. I used it stacked on a Canon 72mm UV filter without vignetting.

The B&W ND 0.6 'slim' version doesn't have a wide enough rim for the A1 lens cap to clip onto. The local dealer swapped mine over for the std. version.

Cal, some B+W slims aren't MC but the one I got was. The lens cap that came with it was a push/pull job that didn't work for me inside the A1 lens hood.
Cheers. |
