Shoot uncompressed?
Is there any way to shoot uncompressed with the A1?

The question is not how to shoot uncompressed, but how to record it.
There is an uncompressed video output on the XH A1: the analog component video output. It does not include audio, but if you add a component video capture card to your computer, then you can capture uncompressed video this way.
