Import video software
Hey guys I used to use a program to import my footage on my canon xha1 I can't remember the name but it supported a wide variety of programs, and you could press the record button through the software and it would start recording from your camera, and import raw footage. Does anybody know this great simple program it had a very plain gui as well.

HDVsplit, maybe? It's a great program... does scene-detection, too.

Hmm HDV split is saying I don't have a mpeg 1 audio decoder, I installed ffdshow like it instructed still no go, I'm using vista 32 bit.

Aye, ffdshow and such are for playback on your desktop while it's capturing, I think. All programs like this do is capture a digital file, no decoding necessary :)
