WA-72H with or without lens hood?

Hi there,

I understood that the WA-72H comes with a lens hood. About 2 weeks ago I received one from BH Photo&Video without one. They answered me that the wide angle adapter does not come with a lens hood.

I cannot imagine this is true, because they don't sell the hood seperately.

This is really a pity, because I am starting a journey from Cape Town to travel 8.000 - 10.000 kilometres (a project of the foundation YES-Africa) and are covering it with the XH-A1. Now I have the adapter, but no lenshood.

So, how about you? Did you receive one with the WA-72H??

Regards,

Yeah, mine sure came with a hood. But that was a year ago, perhaps it's sold separately now.

Chris,

Thanks, I ordered it a few minutes ago. It won't reach Cape Town in time and are starting a roadtrip to Tanzania on monday, so will have to manage without it. Let's just see that (filming without a hood) as a challenge.

Kind regards,

Sjoerd

I bought one from EVS in Burbank (one of the sponsors here) in July.

It came in a box packed with the lens, front and back lens caps, the lens shade, and the lens pouch, and the manual. The lens sits on a piece of syrofoam. The lens shade is put on over the top of this. There is another piece styrofoam. The lens pouch is folded in a plastic bag and sits on top with the manual.

Did yours come with the lens pouch?

I see on B&H that nothing is included except the adapter. Is this a change in the way Canon is selling them? Or is B&H breaking up the package and selling the items separately?

Got mine from B&H photovideo:

It came packed in a Canon box in styrofoam.

Contents:

(1) Lens with end caps.

(2) Vinyl canon bag.

(3) Lens shade.

(4) Instruction sheet.

Hope this helps.

I have yet to use this lens. I'm more in need of telephoto capabilities and will probably sell it eventually.
