why/What's this blinking message?

Still reading the manual, but did a eyescan for this symbol. could not find the meaning for this RED symbol?

What were you doing at the time the symbol appeared? What was the camcorder mode?

I believe that symbol appears in Camera mode whenever the Index Write function has been triggered, either by a Custom Key or the wireless remote control. It is not described in the operator's manual as far as I know.

Chris,Don, thank you,

for my readforum expreince and realtime, i learned to record blank tape -black

I record the empty blank tape in the same camera by closing the lens with given lid. I did get face advantages druing NLE capture. No problems with drop frames or batch capture things

i did samething, but since A1 is new, while doing the same, i modified USB? function timecode, from default to something which records timecode onto tape. That should have caused this blink message?.
