A1 not recognized by Premeire CS2
Ok I bit the bullet, bought a dual quad core and am ready to edit HD.
The computer is running XP pro 2. The computer recognizes the camera and I can preview footage from My Computer by clicking on the Canon icon. The problem comes with Premeire. It wont recognize the A1. I have tried changing the order in which the camera is turned on vs Premeire, but nothing works. The camera works fine in DV on my other slower computer Any thoughts? Cheers Syverson PS: footage is 1080 |

I had the same problem with another NLE program and roughly the same configuration as you: quad core and XP Pro. There is a simple and effective work around freeware called HDV Split. Download it and no worries as far as capturing. Good luck!

Thanks
All is well....Premeire decided out of the blue to accept my A1.
It is fun to edit HD right off the tape and into the computer with no Aspect...these quad cores fly... Cheers Syverson |

I have the same problem with my A1 and my HV20.... I just use Vegas to capture HDV footage.
