headphone output ?

Hi all,
I have been reading a lot and a lot but didn't find anything about the headphone output of this camera ?
I did a shoot lastevening with a rental Z1 and have searching 3 times the menu for increasing volume on the headphone outputs. I didn't find it at all..

On my own DVX100A the output is more then enough. Even in loud area's i have plenty of monitoring volume to check the levels.

So.., can someone explain if the max output between DVX and XH are alike ?

Thanks,

Erik

The A1 volume jack for the headphones is the menu up down key. An on-creen volume display will also be visible when you tweak it.

One thing about the A1, is that the output is VERY tinny... don't rely on it for proper EQ (if you're running a line input) as its totally inaccurate unlike the DVX100. In fact the EQ of the A1 is atrocious and I've tested it with about four sets of studio plugs through to consumer plugs. I use noise canceling in-ear phones. The actual recorded audio if fine however.

Both the DVX and the A1 allow you to either shift monitoring from realtime to record time (delayed) though. I prefer realtime as I can't hear anything when I've got my phones in.

The little wheel on the back on the back, lower left of the battery compartment, is how you adjust the headphone volume. No need to go into the menu.
