Public Info film shot on A1

Hello

Shot a UK public info film on the A1 (25fps, 720p, 34mb download):

http://www.eyecatcherfilms.com/Drive...h.264_(mq).mov

It's heavily compressed h.264, blocky compression artifacts are all quicktime's, not visible on the original.

Well done.

Did you use a 35mm adaptor or did you do the blurred edges in post?

How did you get the slow motion to look so good, not all blocky? You shot in 60i for that and slow it down?

Thanks Michael, the blur was done in post, and was really an attempt to signify the flashbacks rather than simulate depth of field.

Derek, for the slow motion I shot at 50i (PAL) with the shutter at I think 1/150th, to reduce motion blur - I find shooting with higher shutter speeds helps the slow motion. In post I used ReelSmart fields deinterlacer set to 2x, but I set it to blend the fields rather than interpolate, as it's a lot quicker to render and I think actually looks better.

Sounds great, going to have to try that when I get my A1.
