Cleaning tape
I bought and used a Sony DV Cleaning tape. A few days later I read that you should not use wet type cleaning tapes in the A1 or the heads could be damaged.
Questions: 1. Do I need to re-clean the heads with a dry cleaning tape and will it help? 2. Have I done a bad thing that can be reversed or is one cleaning with a wet tape no big deal? I am using Sony HDV tapes so now I'm getting confused as to what to do. Thanks Jim |

i've used sony cleaning tapes with every deck and cam i have ever owned.
6 canon dv cams to be exact w/ the dvm12cld cleaning tape. they are all still in use and have never required repair. i also use sony tape stock exclusively – premium, excellence, and hdv. now as far as minidv goes, the only sony cleaning tape i have ever come across is the dvm12cld ..and i'm fairly certain the "d" stands for "dry." if this is the one you used, stick with it and don't worry. |

from what i understand wet or dry doesnt matter so much as long as you stick with one or the other...
