Keep a count of how many 60 minute tapes you use, multiply by 2 to include capture hours. that should give you a rough idea of how many hours on the heads!

If you use an HV20/30 to capture, then don't multiply by 2.

How to display total hours used?

Hey guys,

How do you display the total hours the camera has been in use on the Canon XH A1? I've been fiddling with the the settings and I'm not able to find it.

Cheers Chris. I actually did a search for "drum hours" and ended up on a thread about shooting the drummer in music video.

It's an unfortunate omission on Canon's part, because my camera has had relatively low usage, but i can't prove it.
