FCP X 10.1 and Canon XF305
Anyone using FCP X 10.1 with the XF series? I have a 2010 Mac Pro but I am not using FCP X yet. I would need to update to Mavericks OS 10.9 and I am wondering if there are any issues with importing and editing with the latest FCP and Apple OS.

Re: FCP X 10.1 and Canon XF305
I use FCPX 10.1 (or, as of today, 10.1.1) with my XF100 on a late 2013 iMac. There are no issues whatsoever once you have the plugin from Canon installed.
Go to the XF305 page at Canon, go to the Software drop down. If you've already updated to Mavericks it will say there's no software - ignore that and change your OS popup to 10.8 and grab the Canon XF Plugin for Final Cut Pro X 2.2.1 Remember that Final Cut requires the entire folder structure from the memory card to see the clips. I actually use the XF Utility software that came with the camera to archive footage and/or to create Virtual Media, then import from there to Final Cut. |

Thanks so much for your response! It sounds as if the import workflow is rather smooth.
