Re: What tripod kit do you recommend?

Victor,

taken as so, no harm, no foul, as the Yanks say. No downer on you or anyone else, I'm cool.

My ire gets up when anything not "component specific" starts a thread here on DVinfo. because I just know the questioner is going to get biased responses from those who know little about the actual question, but have the same piece of kit and are making the same mistakes, possibly.

That's why I strongly urge people not to do it.

I might as well talk through my **s with the Sony bunch, they never listen to anyone.

Keep well.

Regards,

CS

Well, there you go, I'm now trying to find a rock large enough to crawl under.

Victor?

Don't ask me, ask that lunatic that occasionally inhabits that bit of spongy stuff between my ears, 'cos I'm stuffed if I know where that came from.

Victor? Hmm, gonna take a bit of working out, never known one. Strange.

Re: What tripod kit do you recommend?

I second Chris suggestion to ask this question in the tripod section of the forum.

I have the same camera and with the rig fully loaded it comes out over 5 kg, so the suggestions I got amounted to http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/615582-REG/Vinten_V5AS_CP2M_V5AS_CP2M_Vision_Pozi_Loc_Carbon.html
If your rig is under 5 kg, you can consider the V3AS-CP2M system instead.

If this is over budget, consider the Vision Blue range.

Re: What tripod kit do you recommend?

I went with the Sachtler ACE mid level spreader for my XF100 and couldn't be happier. It's a great tripod and head for 500 bucks. Check it out before you buy anything else unless you have lots of bucks.
