No positive Click on Mic<>Line.... BE CAREFUL!!!
On the XLR pod, the forward facing switch panel has 2 sets of horizontal switch toggles. What I've found is that in the tight, gloom it's quite easy to position those switches BETWEEN each mic or line position. I've been banjaxed several times now, BEFORE I got myself aware of this - yes, yesterday on a paid-for shoot.
This needs to be far more positive a click, it's far too important. Loving this camera, Grazie |

Graham or anyone else,
What audio settings are you using for the switches on the back left. The ones that say A, M, Lock? How do you set the audio input? Do you listen via headphones & change the dial until volume sounds right, or set to Auto, or something else altogether? Regards & thanks, Doug. |

The A M Lock switch located in rear side of the camera controlsthe functions such as IRIS, SHUTTER etc. MANUAL is just that-full control by the user. AUTO=No control of functions and audio LOCK=keeping the exact exposure that can't be changeg. EX: Overiding the iris for backlighting and the shot is constant.

Re: No positive Click on Mic<>Line.... BE CAREFUL!!!
I have not got the XF300 but have used Canon cams for years - there is a bit of confusion here I think.
1. In the original thread Grazie is talking about the Line/Mic/Mic+48V switches (audio) 2. Doug then replies asking about "What audio settings are you using for the switches on the back left. The ones that say A, M, Lock?" Something completely different. 3. Lou then describes the A M Lock button controlling the IRIS and SHUTTER. The way I see it the "AUDIO" only or have I lost the plot

Your hysteria is the excitement one exhibits while waiting for the XF300. There isn't a kown cure, as when you DO get the camera you'll just explode!!!!

Re: No positive Click on Mic<>Line.... BE CAREFUL!!!
I'm looking at the camera now.
On the left side at the rear is printed "Audio Level" Directly below that is printed CH1 with a dial 0-10. To the left of the dial is a switch with A, M & a padlock sign. Directly below that is printed CH2 with a dial 0-10 To the left of the dial is a switch with A, M & a padlock sign. If you are shooting on CH1, where would these settings typically be. Shoot on A, or dial in a number based on headphones or watch the meter on the LCD screen? Or is there another way to ensure correct audio levels? Thanks for any input, Regards, Doug. |
