Copy from Computer to CF for in-camera playback?
I searched and searched, but could find no answer to this question:
Is there a way to copy .mxf files back to the CF card and playback thru the camera? I need to show my boss some footage via the camera/HDMI out, but when I copy the footage to the card the camera doesnt see it. I tried this many different ways, including using a formatted card, and adding my mxf files to the CLIPS001 folder. Nothing. All I have are the MXF files themselves, not the folder structure sub folder info with the metadata because it was un-necessary for this project. Am I stuck? Has anyone gotten this to work in the past? Thanks in advance for the help. |

Re: Copy from Computer to CF for in-camera playback?
Just after posting my question, I had a brain flash.
"What if you record a clip, and then rename your old footage on the card?" It works. If you are trying to playback removed footage try this: 1. Record a clip. Doesn't have to be long. I didn't even bother taking the lens cap off. 2. Put the CF card in your computer and navigate to the clip you just took. 3. Copy your old footage to the card, in the same folder. 4. Rename the old footage to the same name as the new clip you just took. 5. Delete the new clip, leaving the old footage that has been renamed. 6. Tada! This is a goofy solution, and it is important you dont change the existing files like the cif and sif files. If anyone can come up with a more elegant solution, I am all ears. |
